el_dorado Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 When I try to run install.php, my browser trys to download it. Any suggestions?
241 Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 check the permissions for the file and change to chmod 777 all right to all things. If this does not solve the issue then contact your host provider about running scripts No longer giving free advice. Please place deposit in meter slot provided. el_dorado Posted April 22, 2004 Author Posted April 22, 2004 The permission is set to 777. I tried both IE and Mozilla and they both say that install.php is a "Photo Parade" file and they won't run it.
bluepony Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Are you trying to install this locally or on a remote server? I'd rather be flying!
bluepony Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Then I agree with Steve. Contact your host provider and make sure you are able to run php scripts. I'd rather be flying!
el_dorado Posted April 22, 2004 Author Posted April 22, 2004 Host as in ISP or where my site is hosted? I have verizon DSL and I already called my site provider (AztecaNet) and they said they support php/mysql.
bluepony Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Let me just double check your install steps: 1) You downloaded OSCommerce and extracted the files locally. 2) You then uploaded the files to your website via FTP. 3) You then launch your browser and point to www.yourwebsite/catalog/install Correct? If not, follow these steps: http://wiki.oscommerce.com/docsInstallNew I'd rather be flying!
bluepony Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 If you are running "http://www.yoursite.com/catalog/install" and it is saying that install.php is a "Photo Parade file". Then you need to contact AztecaNet and tell them what you are tyring to do and the error it is returning. I'd rather be flying!
Guest Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 Your server does not have PHP installed so the browser does not know what to do with .php files. You need a differnt hosting company
