Changes to the Admin Kit

Okay, I know this may be a bit of a Taboo subject having spent the best part of an hour searching the forums and finding nothing, but...

 

We are using osCommerce to develop a shop for a client, but our client is having some dificulties using the built in admin kit, and has asked us to simplfy things a little. Can anyone point me in the direction of some help on altering the kit.

 

Has anyone else attempted this?

You could possibly install the admin access with levels contribution - then only display to your client the modules they would regularly use - leaving the rest to the system admin (you?)
