Moving Search to the header

I moved the search "box" to the header....took away some of the box features so it would sit kind of next to the breadcrumbs....well any page that has a button that "reloads" that page...or checks the forms using javascript ( i can't pin point which one) it will act like the search button had been hit and will go to the search page.

 

For example...I am in my shopping cart and I delete an item and hit the button to update the cart...it would then go to the search page...but the other buttons on the page work fine

 

Another example.. When I go to create a new account and click on the Continue button..it would go to the search page.

 

Please help!
