Rockmonster Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 I have a client who is finiky about paying their bill. We are at the point where they can start to populate their catalog and I have added a new user name and pw to the database access, since I do not want them to have complete control over their account. The new name and pw were added using the mysql functions from the host company. How do I get OSCommerce to recognize that new name and pw, so that they can log in to admin, while maintaining my ability to log in with the original name and pw?
OceanRanch Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 The new name and password you refer to that you added via mysql only provides for access to the database. You'll need to add the new user and password to the authentication scheme that you have installed. (i.e. apache .htaccess or perhaps Windows directory protection). If it's apache then you'll just need to add the new user/password via the standard htpasswd command. HTH Tom
241 Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 have you thought about installing the adminaccess with levels contribution, this would allow you to be the top admin with all privalages and assign lower level admins setting the privelages for each No longer giving free advice. Rockmonster Posted April 21, 2004 Author Posted April 21, 2004 Thanks I found the add on, I will try that tonight. I am not a very strong PHP programmer, so it will depend on how difficult it is. But I love the idea of being able to keep the client out of things he shouldn't be playing with.
