Ok I want to be able to type in my web address and go right to the main page. The problem is two things.

1) I have index.php in the catalog folder but apache is not set to that as the root folder ,must I move everything to the root folder or can I just move index.php there ,and if I did how much updating would there be for any links.

2) I have ssl set up but do not want that for everypage. What must I do to change that so only certain pages I want encrypted will be viewed in https.

Thank you everyone has been very helpful and much quicker than expected on replies.

you could use a redirect, but probably better to move to the root, just migrate everything down one directory and ammend the two configure.php files to reflect the path change i.e. remove any instance of catalog from the paths in the configure.php files.

If you need your hand held for this then pm me and I will go with you step by step
