Colour changes for a novice

Might be a really simple question this one but here goes..........

 

I'm struggling to find where to change the colours within boxes & their headings (e.g top banner with 'my account' etc on it), especially on the index page. I have looked at the wiki docs which tell me how to change borders, outlines etc but nothing more regarding colour changes within boxes etc.

 

Not too clever at this sort of thing but am determined to get to grips with the basics at least (without much success as you can probably gather!!)

You will find them defined in the catalog/stylesheet.css - there is helpful info here: Wiki - Catalog Stylesheet :)
