Guest Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Hi, I am very new to the concept of setting up web pages and storefronts. I am going to be selling guitar related gear in my store and I will be getting the pictures from the manufacturers that I am working with. My problem is that the pictures will be coming in many different sizes and although I can make them within the parameters of the picture sizes available, some will look really distorted. Is there a way to set up multiple picture sizes. Soryy if this is a dumb question, but I am just learning the program and I am as clueless as they come. Thanks for any help you can offer me. zzfritz Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 There are several contributions to add more images in the product listings, or vary the way they are displayed. But the simplest suggestion is described in the wiki documentation: http://wiki.oscommerce.com/docsAdminConfigImages Just put a blank (not a zero) for the small image width, and osCommerce will automatically resize to keep proportion within the set height.
Guest Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Thank you for the help. It looks like it worked. B) I may actually learn how to do all this stuff yet. I hope. Gary
Christian Lescuyer Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 If you specify only width, osCommerce will scale your image to this width and preserve the original proportion. So the image height will vary. Same with height (the image width will vary). If you specify both, the image will be distorted (most of the times). Christian Lescuyer
agiftcodotcom Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 If I only specify height, OSC is not resizing the image. Instead, it is using the full size image for ALL of the images of that product. For small image height I have: 60 For small image width I have: This is how it should be for it to automatically resize, correct? Any help is appreciated. Christian Lescuyer Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Yes. I've just tried your settings, and it works for me. You mentionned "ALL of the images". Did you perchance install a contribution? Christian Lescuyer
agiftcodotcom Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 I added the contrib for people to specify amount to purchase before they go into the details. But I wouldn't think that would effect the images. I also added the contrib to center my store. Contributions I used : Updated 06-13-04 23:42 ---------------- Vote on My Graphis Poll
agiftcodotcom Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 I also tried this on another store that I helped someone else set up (that has no contribs) and I got the same result  Contributions I used : Updated 06-13-04 23:42 ---------------- Vote on My Graphis Poll
Christian Lescuyer Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Which osCommerce version are you using? Christian Lescuyer
agiftcodotcom Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 I think 2.2, how can I find out for sure? It came with my hosting plan, so I would think it is the newest version. Contributions I used : Updated 06-13-04 23:42 ---------------- Vote on My Graphis Poll
