Guest Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 I have been recommended to upgrade my hosts version of OSC to the MS2. If I install the downloaded MS2, I take it I will lose all my current setup? Any way to install MS2 without losing all the changes I made to the 2.2-CVS version I have?

No matterwhat though you'll have to do it by hand if you've changed any core code. You did keep a log of what files you changed right? ;)
Guest Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Thanks for the help. However, I started to make the process of upgrading by downloading the 2.2ms2 version. I ftp'd it to my site and then extracted it with the file manager. Now I have two directories, osCommerce and oscommerce-2.2ms2. The ms2 directory is incomplete compared to the original. When I use the install script in the ms2 directory I get the option to either upgrade from version 2.1 or install. Well none of it is in the directory I have the original in. As the original was installed by the host I am a little lost on answering some of the questions. Does anyone have a walkthrough/howto on how to upgrade from one version (my case it is 2.2-cvs) to 2.2ms2? Worst case scenario is a clear walkthrough on howto make a clean install.
