Orders fell off on 4/6 & 4/7?

I use Google adwords and overture to help promote my store. Google made some changes on 4/6 or 4/7 to the adwords program and a lot of people posted that their ads were not showing.

 

At this same time, I noticed my daily orders fell by 50% and have not yet recovered.

 

Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

I just started using AdWords last night (4/28) and am having a terrible time getting up and running. My CTR isn't up to their standards so I keep getting Slowed. After three slows it's another $5 fee. Problem is that it's going to take some time and testing to get my CTR up, AND I don't want a lot of CTR if it's not turning into conversions.

 

So, I'm a Google newbie but very discouraged! Overture, on the other hand, ranks you based on your bid (doesn't mess with CTR rankings). It's drawback is that any changes to your ads take days to go in to effect....
