images directory is not writeable?

hi guys..

I have a problem with Admin Configuration for categories / products.

On the top of the page, there is an error message. It says

Error: Catalog images directory is not writeable: /home/testingmall/public_html/oscommerce/images/

 

After uploaded some of pictures in the admin page, the pictures are not

loading.. just show me a red X mark inside the box.

 

I even tried FTP Server.. but still doesn't work..

 

how can I slove this error?

Change permissions of the directory. chmod to 744 or 764

 

This is a very common error.
