Slow load of images in IE6, but Great in FireFox!

Hi All,

 

For the past several days I've been running around trying to figure out what is wrong with my server, as it was loading images very very slowly.

 

I finally realized two things:

 

1. The thumbnail images are the actual images with HTML resize attributes.

 

2. There is some code issue that doesn't run very good in IE6.

 

 

I entered one of the contributions to change the images to thumbnails and indeed now they 10th the size of the original,.. but still the page is slow to load them images...using IE6.

 

However, when I use Mozilla's FireFox,.. Amazingly the 10 seconds are now shrunk to MAYBE 2 seconds. A WHHOOOOPPPPINGG difference!!

 

So what the heck???

 

Can someone please suggest what is wrong and what should I do to have the same results in the 99% browsers used by visitors to the site?

Can someone run some kind of an optimizer as I've seen here before on other threads and give some suggestions?
