Setting permissions via Admin?

Hi,

 

I was just wandering if anyone could please tell me if it is possible to set permissions or to password protect files/folders via Admin in osCommerce?

Not in the admin module but there are plenty of other options.

Hi,

 

I just thought that I would be able to set the permissions of the folders in the Catalog folder. I don't have a problem setting the permissions at home via FTP, but unfortunately I am unable to do so at University. Just thought they may be a way around it!

I would recommend that you set up your own login page, which wil make the admin session after a sucess login, and add a log-out button on the footer include in the admin(to be viewable by all pages). Lastly you will add a check on top of the header (or each page, more secure) to check if the session exist or else redirect to the login page..

To take another approach (more annoying if adding products online) is to password protect the whole admin folder (depends on the server you have, usually its in ur control panel under password protet directories)
