delete unused attributes from database

I have been refining my available products (deleting lots and replacing them with new and different ones) and I have been left with heaps and heaps of attributes that I no longer need. Now when I am adding new products in admin I have to bypass millions of attributes before I can find the ones I want to select.

ie. I have a children's clothing store and use attributes for fabric colours etc. There are many colours and fabric types that I used to need when I stocked a particular line but will never choose again now that I don't have that line any more.

What I need is some smartypants to please tell me the line of code to put into phpMyAdmin to clean it all up. Is there a way to ask it to delete any attributes that have nothing against them.

thanks! :)

I haven't lost my mind - I have it backed up on disk somewhere.

I am still trying to work out the commands for php to delete all unused attributes but I am very stuck and I haven't gotten very far at all!

Can anyone help please?

thanks

I need to know this as well. I don't need any attributes on my store. I dislike having to sort through them when I am configuring my EasyPopulate file. There are other options to only download certain things, but it isn't exactly what I want.

Can I customize and option I want to download in the list on Easy Populate? Or should I just delete them from my database?

Thanks

why not just goto Admin -Catalog -Products attributes ,you can delete the attribs there

Because there are hundreds of them and there has to be a quicker way to do it. I just need to know the command to put into MySQL. Anyone help?

thanks
