sam6 Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 you ether need to edit the files then upload them or change the permissions on the server so you can rite to them but make sure you make them read only once you are done!
AlanR Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 Don't edit them using the admin's built in editor or you'll be back here quickly with a "Help, I've got n's all over my page!!" thread. Local: Mac OS X 10.5.8 - Apache 2.2/php 5.3.0/MySQL 5.4.10 • Web Servers: Linux Tools: BBEdit, Coda, Versions (Subversion), Sequel Pro (db management)
larkost Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 What platform are you on (MacOS X, Windows, Linux, *BSD, BobsHouseOfFishOS)? If it is a *nix, are you comfortable on the command line?
Guest Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 some people do not have access to the *nix shell command line. so if not, then download the file to your system (always best to have a complete copy locally anyway), make the changes then upload to your server. after using ftp, or some mode to upload, you need to set the permissions properly.
