Guest Posted April 14, 2004 Posted April 14, 2004 I've done a search here and didnt come up with the topic. Anyways, my client would like the requirement for customer account removed. Payment is done through Pay Pal, so if the customer is not a PP member, they have to sign up twice. any ideas?
Guest Posted April 14, 2004 Posted April 14, 2004 check the contributions for no account checkout I believe... Mike
ozcsys Posted April 14, 2004 Posted April 14, 2004 The guest account contributions do not really keep the customer from having to enter the info in they just keep them from getting an account. There is not much difference in how much info they have to enter in. If you are using paypal you should be using paypal ipn anyway and I believe the following contribution will prepopulate the paypal fields with the customer information when they are transferred to the paypal site to pay. Paypal IPN The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??
cecil Posted April 14, 2004 Posted April 14, 2004 I too would like to know how to have the requirement for customer account removed. Thanks in advance!
pbreit Posted April 14, 2004 Posted April 14, 2004 if the customer is not a PP member, they have to sign up twice. For US merchants, buyer sign up is no longer required. I believe ozcsys is correct in that the "PayPal_Shopping_IPN" contribution takes advantage of PayPal's pre-fill feature so that shoppers would not need to etner name & address information twice. cecil Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 Is there anyway to remove making the customer sign up for a account? Just letting them make a purchase. My question has nothing to do with paypal...I know the original did but I just want to remove that requirement. thanks

I believe it does appear less intrusive to the customer. Unless you are selling downloads you will need to collect the info to process the sale anyway so that would work.
