rontaylor Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 I have a customer who is currently using oscommerce for his online store front selling security cameras. He also runs an alarm company as well, and he would like to be able to have a different website for his alarm company and tie it into the camera website's database so he only has to update one website. I know it is possible to do this, but is it wise? I am worried that there will be a a problem if there a transactions from two different sites hitting the DB at once.
detsouvalas Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Well, logically thinking, that's the reason for developing applications to manage databases, to have them handle correctly such cases! It think that setting up the thing as described will not be a problem, unless each site gets millions of visitors per day, which shouldn't be the case due to the nature of the products (unless if the web sites are featuring very nice looking girls as models). :) Antonios
