My USPS Shipping not working

i get this error??

 

An error occured with the USPS shipping calculations.

If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact the store owner.

 

The first time it was an incorrect username and apssword..

 

this time im sure they are right (tested it on the regular site)

i made an account with usps.com online...

 

i can access my account online, but not on oscommerce

 

is there some sort of special account i have to open?

you need to call the usps and have them move you over to the production server..then change the setting on the USPS mod to production server then it will work....

it isnt automatically in production mode, or was it on test mode..

By default when you sign up with USPS they set you up on their test server for testing.....their test server hardly ever works like it should but the production server works great....The number to call to change to production server is on the email they sent you with the USPS information,,,:)

one more thing im thinking of..

 

isnt it suppose to work with the test mode, not as good as production mode.. but the thing is that it does not work at all and gives me the above mentioned error.. anyway i will try to call USPS tommorow to activate the production mode, and i hope it works

The test server is rarely able to be connected to...so that is what makes the error happen.... I dont know many people that use able to even use the test server at all....
