Regarding the Stylesheet

Well, one of the things I love about dreamweaver is the stylesheet editor.

You open the stylesheet you want to edit and then the css styles window, and you can do it all from in that window, seeing the colors you want to add, etc.

My current problem is that I am editing the catalog/stylesheet.css and after making changes and uploading to the server- I'm not seeing any changes occurring?

I KNOW that Im altering it and saving and uploading, but no changes- am I changing the right stylesheet?

I'm actually following the WIKI document as I go, so I'm confused, maybe someone can help me out?

Page I'm altering:

that is the correct file for making changes to the catalog the other one in admin/includes/stylesheet.css is for the admin

check that the file is being updated on the server, there have been many people whom have had this issue and it has been that the file is not being updated on the server

also try to empty your cache of temporary internet files this can sometimes be an issue.

I see a tan coloured navigation bar would that be one of the changes.

I also see the warning for the configure.php requiring to have the correct permission set

You see the tan?

Great!

I have not only emptied the cache but I also restarted my browser...

The problem with permissions and moi is the fact I cant change them. My file manager isnt compatible with my browser.. unless you know of a way to change them from Dreamweaver?

I also tried uploading aPHP file called permissions to set them, but that wasnt working either.

Any ideas? I just have to have other people change them for m, heh... pathetic, huh?

make sure that:

a) dreamweaver is actually uploading the file

B) the .css file your browser is using is not one that it downloaded and cached previously. Don't just click "refresh" on your browser - - this is not always sufficient. Either clean out your browser cache (temporary internet files) and THEN click "refresh", or do a SHIFT-Refresh / CTRL-Refresh, depending on what browser you are using.
