ctindog Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 I am new to PHP and am trying unsuccessfully to alter the look of the page. This (osCommerce) is my second attempt at a PHP shopping cart. My first attempt (X Cart) was aborted. The problem I keep having is replacing the osCommerce banner and "This is a default setup of the osCommerce project, products shown are for demonstrational purposes..." text areas. Is there a way I can replace the osCommerce "banner" on all of the pages by editing one file, or do I have to edit each page (file), one by one, in html and replace each PHP file? Also, on the X cart php, once I changed the "banner" (X-Cart), my store's home page would not update when I updated categories or added items. Any way, I'm totally lost and any help would be appreciated. Sincere Thanks, Carl (in chaos)
Jack_mcs Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 You don't need to get involved with php for the changes you are talking about. Look in your catalog/images directory. You'll see the oscommerce.gif file. Just replace that with whatever you want to use for your logo. The change will be seen on all pages. Next, open up the catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php file and look for the statement that starts with define('TEXT_MAIN', . Just change the text there to whatever you want. Just be sure you do not erase the beginning and ending ' marks.
