your color scheme is "horrible". I barely can read things. Buttons you made need to be better. you have added some mods which are nice and usefull.

Holy crap. I couldn't close my browser fast enough. The colors are painful. Side boxes have the wonderful sunken looking style that was so popular on the web 7 years ago or so. Just looks like a jumbled mess to me.

I like it alot, but I'd agree that the colors are much too bright. They are certainly taking focus away from the products.

Looking at yesudo's profile there are 1088 posts, most of which are probably him helping other people. He deserves the best response I can give. :)

 

1) "You know you want it" in the top banner does not show up that well.

 

2)"Gadgets, gizmos, games, blah, blah blah". "Toys for big boys" is probably all you need to say.

 

3)Way too much border around the outside. It is all just wasted space.

 

4)Your search box is not a box. Consistency is always good.

 

5)"New user? Get your FREE yesUdo 6MB Email account here!". I think most people who internet shop already have one :(

 

6)Your customer log in is hidden down at the bottom but your newletter gets prime space ??????

 

7)Your scrolling box. Who is going to pause on the home page to read that. The dildo girls site on one of the posts here did it right. They have a box with rotating text. Simple and effective.

 

8)World pay logo and Internet Safe Shopping given prime space ????

 

9)"At yesUdo.com order online or call 0870 881 0339 - Free delivery for UK orders of ?75 and over" could easily be put in the top banner and I think be more effective and noticable.

 

10)"GIFT VOUCHERS" in your catagories is the only part that is CAPITALIZED.

 

11)"Gadgets and Gifts Bestsellers" I found hard to read and a bit too long.

 

12)"yesUdo.com for Gadgets and Gifts" on the bottom banner .... OMG where am I going next ??????

 

13)Delivery page ... immediate despatch (dispatch) sp

 

14)Your "ArcadePC Deluxe" game makes the page wider, can't figure out why it is.

 

15) You have got some cool stuff :)

 

16)Your product pages are better because there is not as much stuff cluttering up the pages but the fonts are different on some of the descriptions.

 

17)I always have to scroll past the "FEATURED GADGETS AND GIFTS" to read anything. It is getting annoying.

 

18)The white lettering on the blue background is getting harder to read as time goes on.

 

19)The way you did the colours is great. Your choice of colours sucks. Have you ever been checked for colour blindness???? They have got to be changed. Reading white lettering is not what I am used to and it is very hard to get used to. I think this is a case where more traditional colour scheme would be an improvement.

 

20)"My Account | Contact Us | Liability | Payment | Privacy | Delivery | Returns | Checkout " This light blue is much easier to read from.

 

21) Your layout seems off. Login at the bottom, newsletter at the top, "FEATURED GADGETS AND GIFTS" always there (sometimes I just want to see what I asked to see).

 

22) The bottom banner could be tightened up to take up about half the space it does.

 

23)The whole site could be tightened up, there is a lot of empty space on the pages and a lot (such as FEATURED ....) that I would just get rid of.

 

24)Your fonts are quite big on some pages which I think is the only way for people to be able to read them with the blue background. Go with a light colour and you could go a lot smaller on the fonts.

 

25)Loose the outside border and you have gained another inch of screen space.

 

26)For the Gadgets and Gifts Bestsellers" I would go with less of them and/or small pics of them. I never even read the first one on the list.

 

27)Your product graphics are great and your descriptions are great. Fix the ones that make the page expand and keep the fonts consistent. On the long descriptions maybe take out some of the info that is not really important.

 

28)Loose the Male/Female on the customer sign up form. Do you really need it and who cares.

 

29)If you only sell in England and area why do you need GBP and Euro's. And is that more important than "customer login" and "search".

 

I wouldn't be that discouraged by comments like "Sorry I couldn't find anything constructive to say." I think it is more of a reflection on your colour choice which is easily fixable. I would experiment with colours and change them once a day and post every day until you get something that gets a positive response. Work on the other things and think about what is important for the customer, logging into their account or worldpay logo????. Other than that go through the site and make sure fonts are consistent and pages fit properly and I think your site will work for you. You have some great products and there is a market for your store but you have to make them want to stay, not close their browser. Good luck and hope I helped even just a little bit considering how much you have helped people in the forum.

The toned down colours are a big improvement, you can read the text better now. I like it better without the scrolling box in the center. Good job :)

I have just been looking over your site and its looking much better. I think that the structure of the site is working very well so far.

 

Still, I think some work on the colours is still needed. My only sugestion would be to eliminate some of the colours down to two main colours. These to colours could be used in multiple shades but ensure continuity. Some of the colours you have used do tend to clash in some situations, and the use of black and yellow under the header is not an inviting combination, the header is a big statement so maybe utalize that blue as a constant theme through out your site. Also, you use serif and sanserif fonts together which can make a page feel loose. You could use a certain font right the way through as another continuity device.

 

To me, you have a brand theme going on in your header graphic. I think the rest of your site needs to be loyal to this colour/brand scheme.

 

 

 

The above is an example of what your site could look like with a simpler colour scheme.

Sorry about the vague comment (type faces) its actually only in on place on the front page. The

bit where it says "WHAT'S NEW ? - Click Here to find out " is in a serif font.

Hi. I like the site overall but do find the colours a bit of a strain after a while. This is only a really small comment really - but can you change the order of your categories so that you have the things you anticipate selling more of at the top with things like batteries at the bottom? It think that it would make more sense.

 

Also, when i click on a product (arcade games - cool!) I would think it better to have the image before the stock level which is in really bold yellow. I know this is important, but should the options of what you want be after how you describe how much you need it?
