troble with "my account"

I just figured lot of stuff out, this is my 4th day with oscommerce, the only thing that I have trouble with is when I try to " log yourself in" "creat account" or click on "my account" I get 404 page not found, but I had to change the permsion to almost all of the folders in catalog to 777, I dont know if that could be the problem, I didnt finish with the website yet thats why i didnt change the permison back? I really need this ASAP.

You probably enabled SSL and don't have it - in both your /includes/configure.php files set:

 

  define('ENABLE_SSL', false);

 

Only your images directory should be 777
