I went to the generator site of htaccess and it told me to make a user name and a password name the send it to the path I want protected. I set the path http://rhjgoldmfg.com/catalog/admin ? I took the two codes it gave me and copyed them to notpad and saved them in my ftp using names and saved as 'htaccess' and '.htpasswd'. I ftp them to the directory admin and went back to the generator and sent it. why is this not working ?? :( Thanks mikel
Guest Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 it doesnt work that way, you need to use the host control panel to do this or, if you have shell access, do it from the shell to create the files. or use admin access with levels contribution
