ReginaStelling Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 Hi! Just looking at osCommerce docs, trying to figure out how to customize the look and feel...I'm not really a PHP programmer. I've done a little bit, but I'm much more of a front end developer - I do know HTML. My question is...How do you go about customizing the look & feel? Is this system template driven? Is there a place to insert HTML? Or do you just go into each module, one by one, and hand code the HTML, and cross your fingers that you don't mess something up.... Let me know what the easiest way to do this is... And if there's some documentation I need to read on this, please let me know. THANKS, Regina
katie81 Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 you can make alot of quick changes in the stylesheet.css Most other changes are done by editing the php files. Katie
ReginaStelling Posted April 11, 2004 Author Posted April 11, 2004 Hey Katie! Have you heard of STS (Simple Template System) contribution? Do most people use that to customize look & feel? Or is that harder to deal with??
katie81 Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 Hey Regina, I wouldn't know about how to use those, although it does seem there are alot of template systems and Im pretty sure alot of people use them. I personally just use php. pm me if you need any help down the line.. Katie
usmedia Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 STS is the best thing since sliced bread in my opinion. Once installed, a single HTML page is all you edit to make your OSC site a much prettier site with nice graphics. I highly recommend it. It was even easy for me to use and i am basically an OSC idiot. John
