Paycheck Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 SurfcampMade a bunch of small changes to the site, buttons, table headers, boarders etc. Need some feedback JM Always remember, we need patience, guidance and most of all understanding. My Contributions
Chance Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 You really need an image contribution that allows you to have thumbnails. Check the contributions for "Big Image, Little image" or "Dynamic MoPics" for some good ones, there are many. Your surfboards look like beachballs when your product image is compressed to a thumbnail. My advice comes in two flavors- Pick the one that won't offend you. Guest Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Paycheck, I think you are good to a good start but, it does need some more work. While I think that the wavy fonts for the My Account, etc are cool, they are hard to read and I think that the average person might over look them. I think that the images are an obvious problem and you seemed to have some broken images throughout. But, I like the infoboxes. And I do think you are off to a good start, keep it up.
Guest Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 I agree with networks post. Your PO Box and phone # in the top banner are not readable and the font is so out of place. Move your search box up closer to the top. Think about what people will look at once and what they will use more often, rank the importance of your boxes and position them accordingly. I think you are off to a good start but you have too many conflicting fonts and colours going on. Update your copyrights, they don't match. Peter
vcache Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 I agree with chance, your images need some work...I actually thought they were skims until I saw they were actally boards. Also, your larger images (the 'click here to enlarge' ones) are too long..you might consider making them a bit shorter (they barely fit on my screen, after I had to move them up and I'm at 1024x768...what's it going to look like at 800x600 - and those don't have scrollbars so anyone at 800x600 will not be able to see the whole board) Contribs added: AdminLogin-Catalog With Images-Credit Class/Gift Voucher-CoolMenu EasyPopulate-LoginBox-Paypal Shopping Cart IPN-PDF Catalogs Product Listing In Columns - Image Strip -- ...the young jedi said to his master "you want me to do WHAT?"
Guest Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Site is basically osc stock which can sometimes be a good thing but what's going on with the address and phone # below the header? It looks like you don't want your customers to see it...the text is way to small.
♥yesudo Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 I am no expert - so ignore me if you wish. I see a lot of stores with excellent opening pages like: http://surfcamp.com/ http://www.surfcamp.com/index2003.htm but then you go to the store and it doesn't fit atall. Personally I would do quite a bit to the store to change the default look to fit more inline with your excellent entry pages. Your online success is Paramount.
Paycheck Posted April 17, 2004 Author Posted April 17, 2004 THanks to all for the great constuctive criticism. I appreciate it. I will look at changing or modifying all of the considerations brought up. Again thank you. JM Always remember, we need patience, guidance and most of all understanding. My Contributions
