Hello!

I have installed Oscommerce on my serverspace and everything seemed to be working well, went to my admin page and made som changes in the shop.

The installed swedish language modell is working good on my shop-site.

Now a strange problem has occured, I cant acess my admin site when I tried today. I havent done any changes from what I now of since I accessed my admin page last time. This is a different computer today though.

I am using the same URL adress as last time to acess my admin page.

I havent told Oscommerce to use swedish on the admin site so I dont understand why its asks for it?

I have replaced my servernamnes in the text bellow.

Adminsite URL: http://myservername.se/catalog/admin/index.php

Warningmessage:

Warning: main(includes/languages/svenska.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/username/mapname/catalog/admin/includes/application_top.php on line 130

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'includes/languages/svenska.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear') in /var/www/username/mapname/catalog/admin/includes/application_top.php on line 130

Big thanks from Niklas, Sweden!

Hello Sparky!

Thank you for your answer, in what folder exactly should I place the swedish language files?

Maybe here?

/mycatalogname/catalog/admin/includes/languages

can I use the swedish language files that are in the folder:

/mycatalogname/catalog/includes/languages

Posted

Yes you need to put them in

/mycatalogname/catalog/admin/includes/languages

And no you cant use the ones from the catalog as they are different.

Thanks again Sparky

Ok, I guessed right which folder to put them in :)

But if i cant use my swedish language files from mycatalogname/catalog/includes/languages which ones should I then use?

It is so strange for me because I only made my Shopping site use swedish and not my admin site.

What you could do is cheat :-)

Copy the english.php file to svenska.php

and copy the english directoy to svenska

That will fix it :)

Thanks again Sparky!!!

Well I am bit new about this so there is some follow up qeustions as you notice :)

Do you mean to take the english.php file from the folder /mycatalogname/catalog/admin/includes/languages and simply rename it to the name svenska.php?

copy the english directoy to svenska

Can you please inform me a little bit more what you mean about this?

I have some ideas about what you are thinking about but I am not sure, is it maybe to make a new folder namned svenska and put a copy of what is in the folder english in it?

either way create a folder called svenska at this location /mycatalogname/catalog/admin/includes/languages/ and copy the contents of this folder /mycatalogname/catalog/admin/includes/languages/english/ to the folder /mycatalogname/catalog/admin/includes/languages/svenska/

also make a copy of this file /mycatalogname/catalog/admin/includes/languages/english.php and rename it as svenska.php at this location /mycatalogname/catalog/admin/includes/languages/svenska.php

these files will all contain the text in english which would require translating
