I am planning to set-up a linux box from scratch as a web development server to learn php, mysql and tackle oscommerce. 1) Has anyone produced any documentation which will guide a newbie from having a blank sheet to getting oscommerce up and running. I am pretty handy with Linux but don't know nada about mysql and you could write my knowledge of php on a back of a postage stamp (although I am learning). I have just really used text files and scripts/perl previously. 2) I am in the UK, can anyone recommend any good RELIABLE local hosting services where mysql, apache, phpadmin, php is already installed neatly for oscommerce. 3) What payment gateways do UK users use, is PROTX supported, do UK merchant accounts support anuthorize.net 4) Is there any oscommerce whizzes out there that offer configuration, customization for a couple of pints and a bag of crisps. I want to be able to gain the knowledge but could do with a yoda. Anyway sorry about the newbie questions. Andrew [email protected]
