images in subdirectories - help

Hello All,

I read several posts relating to this problem and the Wiki documentation for doing this but I'm still having problems. I'm creating subdirectories within the /images folder and sorting my images into them. When I use the admin tool to assign the image (browse to file) to, say, a category, I get the message "image does not exist" when I save the configuration. In the categories table categories_image=NULL for that entry. If I use an image from the /images folder, it works fine. I've checked the permissions on the folder/file and changed the "\" to "/" before the image name, but neither of these seem to be the problem. I'm using 2.2ms2 on a Win98 machine with OpenSA/1.0.4 (apache/1.3.27 (Win32) PHP/4.2.2). Strange thing is that when I do this on a WinXP machine with IIS, it works fine, so I suspect it may be a PHP or Apache config problem. Any help would be appreciated.
