Only alowing certain people to see the store?

Hi,

 

Im about to create a store for a client, but it needs to be set up iun a way that will allow certain people to be able to sign up and then view the website.

 

Can this be done in any way with OS COMMERCE?

 

Perhaps by letting them sign up and then having the admin enable their account?? Or giving them a secret word they need to input in the signup page??

 

Is there any way I can do this with oscommerce or is there a better application i could use for this task???
