When I go to www.google.com and put my website in there as the thing I'm searching for, I get the following:

Clicking on this link will bring you to my webpage, but... how do I get it to display the correct description that's in my <META> tag?

Thanks!

I am using IE6 and I am using the default osCommerce install (does it have frames in it?).

My URL is www.focus-computers.com

Thanks!

Actually, I'm looking at my index.php file and it seems like osCommerce is using tables... but not frames.

Slightly off topic but google ignores meta tags.

Sorry my mistake,

google uses frames and somehow it seems that your browser does not support them

So Babysweet's question was valid:

what browser and version are you using?

i see many meta descriptions within google results. whether google uses them in their algorithm for ranking purpose is another issue. but they can show on the results, depending on the other text on the pag.

best.

I know IE6 supports frames, so what could be another explanation why I'm getting that 'error' in google? I'm just curious what the search for 'focus-computers.com' shows in other peoples' browsers.

Thanks everyone!

You are right, it's not your browser. Very strange

It does not happen with (most) other websites.

Google can show you the following information for this URL:

Show Google's cache of focus-computers.com

Find web pages that are similar to focus-computers.com

Find web pages that link to focus-computers.com

Find web pages that contain the term "focus-computers.com"

I know my browser is good for frames, I use them on my site.

I don't know, maybe google doesn't allow searches for sites in that fashion

I mean, if you have your web address, focus-computers.com, why would you be searching google for it,

Maybe like what MSN does when you click a link they use a frame so their addvertisement is always on top

anyway, I don't know, hope you find the solution

Sincerely,

Joseph Seabert
