rossasbill Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 OK, I think I almost have this thing licked thanks to all your help. One more question...How do I change the Title Bar Color?
rossasbill Posted April 9, 2004 Author Posted April 9, 2004 And also can I get rid of the Languages Box and the Currencies Box as I only use one.
zzfritz Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 If you mean by "title bar" the header, all of its graphics and text can be revised in catalog/includes/header.php. At about lines 55 - 60, there is a table with one row and including two fields. The left one displays oscommerce.gif, and the right one has a series of icons which (in my opinion) are duplicative of the text links immediately below. You can replace the oscommerce.gif with your own logo, or replace the whole row. You may also want to revise the color scheme imposed by the stylesheet, at catalog/includes/stylesheet.css. To omit any of the boxes in the left or right column, comment them out in catalog/includes/column_left.php and catalog/includes/column_right.php.
rossasbill Posted April 9, 2004 Author Posted April 9, 2004 Thanks ... 2nd Part worked! First Part (title bar) actually I mean the thin (grey?) line at the top of each box.
rossasbill Posted April 9, 2004 Author Posted April 9, 2004 OK I figure it out, except it didnt color the whole bar??? there is still a little sqaure on the left side of each bar that didnt change to black. Please take a look http://www.overclockpc.com/oscommerce
Guest Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 Hi i am also struggling with how to change the grey bars to blue etc. If anyone could help me i would be very grateful. James
Almirena Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 The little squares are .gif files - you'll have to edit them out in /catalog/includes/boxes/information.php Or just upload whatever images you'd like to use instead of those box images. You'll find them in the /catalog/includes folder - column_left and column_right and so on. Good luck with it!
rossasbill Posted April 9, 2004 Author Posted April 9, 2004 @ Almirena :thanks for the info. @ Jimz: when i get home from work i will post how to change the colors.
rossasbill Posted April 9, 2004 Author Posted April 9, 2004 Theres a color code chart here: http://www.colorschemer.com/online.html what i did was edit the stylesheet.css like this: replace all #bbc3d3 with whatever color code you want the bar to be.
Guest Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 What is the best way of accessing stylesheet without accessing through the file manager?
johnmc Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 Hi, Rossa and all! The colorschemer tool is pretty good (I've had it in my favs for quite a while), but I find this one to be even better for giving you a nice choice of palette: Colormatch Cheers! John Mc
Guest Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 So what is the best way to access the stylesheet file?
241 Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 Jimz use an ftp program such as ws_ftp to download the file to a local machine then edit offline using notepad, dreamweaver, phpedit, VIM, expert phpedit, crimson editor, Topstyles or any number of editors here is a link to a list of possible editors Click once you have edited the stylesheet use the ftp program to upload the file to the server. for information on the different parts of the stylesheet try here Click No longer giving free advice. Is your Osc dated try Phoenix raising oscommerce from the ashes.
rossasbill Posted April 10, 2004 Author Posted April 10, 2004 My Favorite FTP is CuteFTP Pro. You can download/edit/upload but you can also right click a file and edit it right on your site.
