smokestack Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 I want to add a customer referral program to my osc store. Has anybody built one yet?
smokestack Posted April 9, 2004 Author Posted April 9, 2004 I am familiar with the affiliate program but I want this for customers, not webmasters. Can it be customized for a referral program?
rseigel Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 Huh? Not sure what you're looking for. What do you consider a "referral program"?
♥MYC267 Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 A customer referral program is one where the actual customer benefits directly. For example you could set one up that gives a customer a 10% coupon when 5 other customers sign up to the shop that were referred by that customer. There's heaps of rules you could put around it but in short it's all about the customer... if the customer helps promote your site and your product then they should benefit. Dan
NHRAFan Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 I know this is an old post, but I couldn't find anything else in my searches that matched what I was looking for. Has anyone built a customer referral system based on the Credit Class & Gift Voucher contribution? Here is what I had in mind - 1. Added referral field to customer sign up. Give them the option to put in a current customer's e-mail address as their referrer. 2. When the new customer places an order of >$x, the referrer gets a gift voucher for $y. This would reward people who send business your way AND get the referring customer to spend more money to redeem their gift voucher. If no one has done this yet, I may give it a go if there is some interest.
Guest Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 Hi everybody, I'm also looking for such a contribution. I haven't found yet anything similar existing for Osc but I know many people who would be interested in it. A member of the french community began developing a referral contribution, but he's not active anymore and I can't have his "contribution" work. Though I have his code, which could be a basis for a further development, but I'm unfortunately not competent to do it.
