♥yesudo Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 Either create the folder pointed to by the cache directory setting, or change it to a folder it can write to. Hi Steve, Thanx for that. One prob I am getting is someone else's cats are showing up - as cache does does seem to be writing - any ideas ? Thanx. Your online success is Paramount.
♥yesudo Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 can anyone advise on this please? thanx. Your online success is Paramount.
stevel Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 You have probably left it as /tmp and are on a shared host where that is writeable. Create a folder in your site (typically at the top level of where you connect to FTP, not in the "html" area) and point the cache directory to that. ♥yesudo Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 Thanx Steve and Kavita - that sorted it. Your online success is Paramount.
RObW Posted April 26, 2004 Posted April 26, 2004 Just got cache issues sorted with the help of a few others... It should not be necessary to create blank files to solve the 'Missing Files' issue. You may get the re-assurance that the blank files you created are there, but they still may not update... When troubleshooting Missing Cache Files, first check: a) Use Cache option is set to TRUE B) Cache folder path is set correctly (and ends with a '/') c) Cache Folder permissions are set to '777' (world writable) If the cache files are still not showing up even though all this is set correctly (they should generate by browsing through your Categories or Manufacturers pages), then the issue is most likely to be a cookies issue - Cache is *ONLY* used when the cookie containing the session id has been set. It is never used when the osCid is set in the URL. d) Check that you have set the cookie domain and directory correctly in: /catalog/includes/configure.php Cheers Rob
♥jailaxmi Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 how can i fix this? Cache Control Categories Box File does not exist Manufacturers Box File does not exist Also Purchased Module File does not exist Cache Directory: C:/Inetpub/wwwroot/oscommerce/tmp/ I have a similar problem. My cache directory is writable and at admin/tmp. I set the cache to false, because when the cache is set to true, my Ultimate SEO links get messed up and do not show the category name and product name, which I like best for SEO purposes. Is there any way I could get them to work while still using cache to speed up loading times? Thanks!
