crow Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 Hi All! On my os commerce site, sometimes when you click on the checkout button, it sometimes goes to the shipping page, where you choose the shipping delivery and shipping address, but half the time it skips this bit and goes straight to the payment screen? Does anyone know why this happens? I use a flat rate shipping fee but apart from that I cant see any reason why this happens. So far the only time i can see when it goes to shipping, is when a user is not logged in, but if they checkout , and then login , it works. However, if they are already logged in, then its a 50/50 chance. A friend said that its a problem with my cgi server ? Can anyone help? I'm at a complete loss. :(

crow Posted April 8, 2004 Author Posted April 8, 2004 Thanks for the reply. I'm afraid I dont sell downloadable products, I am selling phones, using Family products v3.0, was using master products prior to that. haha got my hopes up then thought you might have the answer. Thanks for the reply though! :D
Guest Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 you must set a weight for each product, it cannot be 0. I had this problem as well, I thought that since I was using the flat rate that it didn't matter if the product weight was 0 .........wrong! As soon as I gave all my products a weight, waa laaa! it never skips the delivery anymore! :) hth
dhec Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 I am having a similar problem too, I am going to try it out !
crow Posted April 10, 2004 Author Posted April 10, 2004 HAHA YES! Thanks Kristine it worked. Such a strange glitch, wish I knew about it earlier. Thanks very much, I tested it on products with and without the added weighting, and did exactly as you said it would. This should be put on the FAQ!
