Guest Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 Hello Please note the site linked to below contains some adult content. I've recently revamped my online store (the original was just awful). Although not a huge step from a basic Oscommerce store, the underlying html is more css orientated as opposed to the usual nested tables. Haven't quite finished yet, in particular: - I'm changing my checkout process - Changing the page headings to use images - A few other things that aren't quite right but I'm currently out of ideas Also, I haven't got my special offers and featured products set up yet. Can anyone have a look? Any constructive criticism welcome. FemmeFataleShop Thanks, Brian.
gazb Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 Hi Brian Unfortunately I think there is quite a lot of work to do on the site before it's really going to attract much sales. My first impressions when I went to the homepage was that it was just someone's personal homepage - it doesn't look like a shop at all, and the design looks it's only half finished. Have a look at some of the other sites mentioned in this forum so you can see the difference. You've got the right product range, but the design is letting you down at this stage. Hope that's not too harsh! :) Gary
Guest Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 Thanks Gary. I don't mind harsh criticism so long as it is constructive and not too rude. Aside from the product range, is there anything good about the site, or anything you think I can build on? Regards, Brian.

Guest Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 Thanks, sorted. I get the impression that's the least of my problems though. Brian.
hendywear Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 Brian, Witch contribution did u used for the size/colour box?? greetingz : H.Hendriksen
Guest Posted April 10, 2004 Posted April 10, 2004 H.Hendriksen What size/colour box are you refering to? What page is it on? Regards, Brian.
Guest Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 I like what you have done for the most part but the image in the background throws me off. Makes my scrolling seem wierd. The top banner is very plain and their the "login" does not show up as well as it could. I like that you have taken out a lot of stuff and just left the parts that are needed, it makes it easy to find my way around the site. The parts that are left just need a bit of tweaking and I think you will be there. Don't forget to change your copyright (2003)
Guest Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 Thank you, I'm glad someone likes it. Yes the page heading does need more work, I'm just suffering from "designer's block" at the moment. What is it about the background image? The fact it's there, because it scrolls, its position? Happy Easter to all. Regards, Brian.
Guest Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 Maybe take out the background image and put it (smaller) in the header. That might give you a start. The background image takes away from what you are selling. It makes it hard to read what you have written. I don't focus on your site, I seem to focus on the picture in the background because it is stationairy. Peter
Guest Posted July 15, 2004 Posted July 15, 2004 Ok, some restructuring, mainly around the header. There are some things in the left and right columns I may remove (Brands/manufacturers box is the prime candidate). The site is doing ok in the search engines, yet conversion rate is a little low but not to bad. Definately room for improvment but not sure were: maybe just a greater range of products? Anyone fancy taking a look? *****ADULT CONTENT***** http://femmefataleshop.com/ Thanks, Brian.
