OS Commerce migration a success, but.....

I am by no means whatsoever anywhere close to being an informed source on Linux, Apache, PHP, or MySQL....yet, I had a client recently request I migrate ten OS Commerce sites running on Linux to a couple of Windows boxes. I approached form the standpoint of being MCSE....and the least path of resistance was to run Apache web server (same version as the Linux boxes were), the same version of PHP, Perl, and MySQL.....so as to minimize any glitches that might occur during the site migration. First of all, let me say this....I found nearly NO documentation to assist me in ramping these sites from Linux to Windows platforms....so I had to create my own procedures (that's always the fun part, though, right?).....I will be posting the procedures I took in getting OS Commerce to run smoothly on Windows....yes, I did say smoothly.....I was even thoroughly impressed with OS Commerce Server....as I had never had any interaction with it before...I only have one problem left standing: How can I lock down access to the Admin Web-GUI Tool? I have followed chapter and verse the Directory attributes to be added to the Virtual Hosts part of http.conf....even did the whole thing with creating the .htpasswd and placing it in the proper directory....anyone have any ideas? I am even open to a third party app that can do the authentication/challenge for access to a particular directory....I would appreciate any assistance.
