Installation Problem

I have followed the installation instructions that are posted on wiki.oscmmerce.com:

first transmitting in asci mode

setting permissions to (706 or 777) on the config.php files in admin/includes & includes.

I also reset setting to the folder they recommend after installation, but i'm still getting and error on the top of my screen saying " Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /www/n/e/ne :( tworkcrew.net/htdocs/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file."

I've read a lot of the postings with the same problem and nothing seems to work.

I used CUTEFTP / And WS-ftp to set permissions / still no good.

I'm running windows 2000 - and my hoster is powweb.com

Hey,

Actually you need to CHMOD the config.php file your self.. the application needs to write to the file. 706 or 777 will give the software access to write to the file. Anyone with FTP access has the ability to do this..
