MelC Posted April 5, 2004 Posted April 5, 2004 Have been searching all morning so guess it's time to ask :) #1 The shipping weight is being displayed in checkout_shipping and checkout_confirmation. Has anyone figured out yet how to remove this? (have seen it asked a few times just not answered.) Is anyone looking into it? Can someone point me in the right direction... Searching this forum is dangerous - I just became aware of something I hadn't even thought to test, which brings us to #2 Base currency of the store is GBP, two others set up - USD, EUR. GBP shipping calcs are fine, but when you checkout the same items in USD or EUR the shipping rate only changes the sign. (a ?1.37 cart will show up as $1.37 or E1.37) So has this one been fixed yet and can you point me in the right direction. #3 Have the Uk Postal Rates Contrib installed for the Standard Rates and Recorded Delivery. Zone 1 for both is GB, shipping tables are the same except recorded is 65p more expensive. When checking out from a GB based address the Standard Rates show up, but not the recorded delivery... #4 Cross between shipping and attributes. On of the things I sell is fabric. I have my Options setup so that the customer can choose the size of the fabric, but I cant find a way to increase the shipping weight dependant upon the size they choose. Have see the attirbutes sorter and copier with weight mentioned, and will look at it, but it looks like that is designed for the customer to be able to choose the weight & thats not suitable for my product where they choose the size (in inches) eg XYZ Opt 1 - 9"x12" is 25gr XYZ Opt 2 - 13"x18" is 50gr XYZ Opt 3 - 18"x27" is 100gr At the moment I can only set the weight in the main product info, and not for each option. Can be seen at http://www.still-waters.org.uk/osc/catalog Thnx for the help, Mel

Thnx for the help, Mel <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am having the same problem as #1 above. I am also having problem with UPS shipping. My OSC store undercharges for shipping by $3-$5 and I would like to avoid a handling charge (my current solution). Is there any way to make the shippping module more accurate Thanks in advance for your help, Per Lovfald http://www.fmspecialtyfoods.com/store
M-Pro Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Mel re. No 4. rather than doing this as a attribute/option, I'd suggest you set up the master/slave product relationships as per this contribution http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...,master+product examples of how this looks to the customer can be seen at both of these http://www.worldwidepos.com/store/product_...products_id=133 http://www.advancinghordes.com/product_inf...products_id/230 That way the selected 'slave' product will have a shipping wieght defined M-Pro
Jeremy at oddly enough Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Also re #4, I do use the attributes for this purpose, and I have a spot in the db for the item's weight, and in the attribute's table for the change made to the weight. I must have used a contrib for this, the file I downloaded is called add-weight-to-product-attributes.zip. Also for shipping accuracy, make sure the package weight and tare weight options in your shop admin aren't adding weight without you realizing it! Jeremy
