Error msg in Administration panel

I just recently took over maintenance of osCommerce, and I don't have a clue on how to use it. I'm not sure what my predecessor did when he installed it.

I have an Error msg when I go into the Catalog section of the Admin panel for "Categories/Products"

At the top of the screen I see this:

Error: Catalog images directory does not exist: /home/pagerworld/www/www.mypw.com/shop/catalog/images/

The thumbnail images don't load at all in the Administrative panel. There's an error that says "IMAGE DOES NOT EXIST". However, the images appear fine in the shop.

We only use osCommerce as a catalog w/o any online shopping features. What could be causing this problem?

Thanks.
