Not Sure What I Need

Fatal error: Failed opening required 'includes/configure.php' (include_path='./:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/baraboo8/baraboo-net-www/catalog/admin/includes/application_top.php on line 29

I can't even get into my admin panel anymore. The above error is what shows up when I try. I had finally solved how to get my SSL recognized (Ithought), and after doing so was receiving warnings about my config file being WRITEABLE and my images folder being UNWRITEABLE or having bad permissions.

I tried to change my file permissions using this formula

Set the permissions on:

/catalog/includes/configure.php

/catalog/admin/includes/configure.php to 706 or 777

Click the "Continue" Button ... You are nearly finished!

Rename the catalog/install folder or delete it.

Reset the permissions on /catalog/includes/configure.php to 644 (if you are still getting the warning message at the top set configure.php to 444 which is read only - this happens on some servers that have been updated for security reasons).

Set the permissions on /catalog/images directory to 777

Reset the permissions on /admin/includes/configure.php to 644

Create the dir /admin/backups and set the permissions to 777

Set the permissions on /admin/images/graphs directory to 777

connect to the server using an ftp program such as ws_ftp locate the directory or file that you want to chmod (set permissions) right click, select properties

for chmod 777 tick all the boxes, for chmod 644 tick all of first row (across) not down and tick the first box on second row on left, for chmod 444 tick all of the first row (across) not down

ANYWAYS, now nothing appears to work. Can anyone recognize what I did wrong?

Thanks

D

What you need to do is.

1. Uninstall osCommerce using your control panel.

2. Download the real files from http://www.oscommerce.com/solutions/downloads

Upload all the files to your webserver using ws_ftp and then run the install from there..

So far all of your problems have been created by that installer included in your control panel.
