I am at the 2nd page of install and I put all the mySQL infortmation in and I get an error: Access denied for user: 'jaldrich_brian@localhost' to database 'jaldrich_xmb1' How do I get past this? I put in my ip address, my username : jaldrich_brian , my password , my database name : jaldrich_xmb1 , and i checked persisten connections, and session storage i hightlighted database. Gold! Posted March 27, 2004 Share Posted March 27, 2004 If i remember correctly on that same config page you also had to enter the database server url. Try putting in "localhost" for database server, assuming your username and sql database name is corrent. Case sensitive i believe. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest Posted March 27, 2004 Share Posted March 27, 2004 Try adding localhost for the DB server (as said above) and leaving your username and password blank. Let OSC create them for you. I can't remember if there is anything else on that page. When you do get in, osC will have the information stored in catalog/includes/configure.php. quikscream Posted March 27, 2004 Author Share Posted March 27, 2004 I have done all of this. I tried my server as a database. then my ip address, then typing localhost. And I have created many different usernames and database names. I have also given all of these things [all permissions]. I have tried not typing in a username or password at all.
