Guest Posted March 27, 2004 Share Posted March 27, 2004 hi, searching through the contributions I don't see anything for fetching product info from xml.amazon upon entry of a ASIN. I'm not yet familiar with osCommerce (or even php really), but there shouldn't be any big tricks to implementing this, right? My interest is really just in the book data of amazon, because i want my oscommerce catalog to be books. I'd also need procedures for importing data from Ingram's list of books in print. I'd be surprised if no one's had to do this before. Why enter bibliographic data manually when there are databases keyed on ISBN? Please let me know if there's any code floating about for this or other book-related features. Another question: is there a cron feature in osCommerce? I'd like to have a nightly job that gets the aforementioned Books In Print data by ftp and dumps it into the database.
