sand_danser
I printed the installation instructions off & went thru them step by step. A couple of differences were found in the instructions & a couple of "what does that mean ?", server denial, domain nameservers re-directed a few times & I'm nearly done :D I'm stuck on having to .htaccess my admin directory so that it's p/w protected ?? All in all though I found that link ever so helpful and want to thankyou for your time & trouble in making it. ps:the link would look gr8 as a sticky ;)
rkin005
Regarding .htaccess question (I think it was a question) I found the following links useful: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/howto/htaccess.html http://httpd.apache.org/docs/howto/auth.html I ended up putting a single .htaccess file in my /admin/ directory. It looks like this: AuthType Basic AuthName "Administrator access only" AuthUserFile /home/some/directory/passwords Require user myAdminUser where 'myAdminUser' is whatever admin user name I want, and /home/some/directory/passwords is the location of my passwords file. I created this passwords file by following the auth.html article (see above) instructions: log on to a unix machine and type "htpasswd -c passwords" (without quotes), enter the username and password and the file is created. Then I copied the passwords file to the location on the server where I needed it. Then copy the .htaccess file to the directory to secure and bob's your uncle. I hope this helps. - Rory
