chester122
Hi everyone! I have finally decided that I will use OScommerce as the basis of my site, although I am having some problems. I have managed to set up apache and I have copied over the catalog folder. I can then start the installation routine (I have edited php.ini for register globals) but it asks me for a set of database information. I have not yet defined my product database and was wondering if one is included with the OScommerce download so tghat I could explore the system before implementing my own. I am running Mac OS X.3 if that affects anything. Many Thanks Adam
Mark Evans
If you have mysql setup correctly and you enter the username / password of a user with create database permussions then the installer will create a database for you., You could also use phpmyadmin which you will find by doing a google search :) Mark Evans osCommerce Monkey & Lead Guitarist for "Sparky + the Monkeys" (Album on sale in all good record shops) --------------------------------------- Software is like sex: It's better when it's free. oog
Adam, I am doing the same as you, thopugh I am a bit behind in what Ive done so far. Do you or anyone else know if there is 'best practice' doc re setting up oscommerce / php etc . My needs are rather simple, I am (trying) to setup an online shop so my sister can sell clothes that she has made. Have the domains/servers, everything else I am learning as I go.
