Hi Everyone,

I was just trying to figure out how to make something happen when i click on 'My Account' and 'Checkout', and so far worked out that something needs to be changed in my includes/configure.php file. So i tried changing a few things, nothing worked, and so i undid everything and put the includes/configure.php file back to how it was when i started messing around with it. However, now when i try to log on to my site i get the following error message:

1046 - No Database Selected

select configuration_key as cfgKey, configuration_value as cfgValue from configuration

[TEP STOP]

My configure.php file is exactly how it was before i started messing with it so i can't work this out. Also, could anyone please point me to a very simple basic step by step tutorial/post on what i need to do to get the 'my account' bit of my site working? i've been searching the docs and the forums but am only picking up random bits of info and it's confusing my little brain. Thanks!

Betty

betty there is something wrong with the information for the database in your config.php files if you only altered the includes/config.php then cross check this against the untouched admin/includes/config.php file

Thanks for your help guys but i'm still in trouble. I've put both the original configure.php files back up now and i'm still getting:

1046 - No Database Selected

select configuration_key as cfgKey, configuration_value as cfgValue from configuration

[TEP STOP]

These original configure.php files both have nothing filled in on them, and when i do try to fill stuff in it doesn't seem to make any difference. i just get a different 'file not found' error message. Any ideas?

you would need to post the configure.php files as they should not be empty, If you want you can pm them to me to look at, it would be best if you could give the server name or domain name and an absolute path to the catalog on the server

got into the same situation. It seem to get worse and mess up more. How does one go about changing anything? Should it be as follows

1. download usin FTP

2. open in notepad or any text

3. seach the codes

4. replace

5. upload back using FTP

Need all the help I can get, been at it for 4 hours without going anywhere but worse.

Thanks

Yup Mik, that is what you should do... and you can use any editer doesn't have to be just a text editer. But you should always download, edit, then reupload. Using the file manager that comes with osc can cause major headaches.

Oh... forgot to mention BACK UP. :D Always make backups of any files you are working on incase something happens and you need to go back to the last working version of the page.
