Branden
When I signed up for authorize.net I was told I had a gateway fee, and some other fee..and then the discount charges about $40 in total assuming I sold enough that they collected $25 in discount fees. Well I get my bill and not only was I getting charged the fees they said...but Discover is charging $20 a month, and AMEX is charging another fee. I was not told about any of this. The discover fee really pisses me of because no one uses them, and it is almost as high as the gateway fee. Anyone know what I should do bout this? Chris Dunning
That's why a lot of people don't take Discover or Amex. I think you need to call the people who have your merchant account and call your processor as well - see what they can do about it. cgchris99
I use authorize.net and was told upfront about the $20 discover fee and I told them that I do not want to take discover. So I don't incur that charge.
critical mass
Call Discover, I found it was a one time fee and that there are no monthly fees, AMEX is $5 a month. I dont use either anymore though.
♥monte22
The good thing about Amex though, is that the only fees you pay them is $5 per month, there is no discount rate. I think this is good until you get over $5k per year with them. I use them just so my customers have options, and when they do decide to use Amex it saves me some money in the long run.
