osCommerce

The e-commerce.

Windows IIS 6 osCommerce (ONLY)

Ok here is the deal. This osCommerce is making me stupid I feel. I have configured php on my Win 2003 Enterprise server as a ISAPI module on a Dually Xeon Dell PowerEdge 2600. This works fine in all my testing of it in the last 4 weeks. I am able to install and use PhpNuke, phpBB Forums, and many other php applications.

Contrary to popular beliefs, Linux / Unix systems are not all that is out there server wise.

I set security permissions to let everyone and their dog have full permissions to the entire directory structure. Well this did not work so being intelligent I just grabbed the oscommerce.sql file and manually imported the sucker. I changed every freakin' "configure.php" file to known to man to correspond to the proper MySql DB connections parameters.

At this point I am about ready to print all that code out and go to the shotgun range and get some good use out of it.

If anyone has had this problem and solved it, please shoot me some help or a good swift kick in the right direction.

Thanks,

Damon

Hi,

I hate to inform you but this...

I have configured php on my Win 2003 Enterprise server

Is NOT one of these...

So that means you need to set the permissions the windows way ver the unix way.

Well Dave, when you click the security tab on a directory add user "Everyone" and give them full access of the directory that is the same thing as chmod 777. That means everyone and thier momma's dead cousin can do whatever they want.

Directory security is not the issue here at all. I am lost on where to go from here and that piece of advice was not exactly what I was looking for.

Sorry to sound so blunt, but I am very frustrated at this point in time. I have developed Apache ASP scripts, PERL CGI modules, and VB / Active X dll's to do this sort of thing. It is not like I am a retard here.

I got a client who does not want to use any of those because they are dead set on using osCommerce. My Linux Web boxes are currently at their max and would not handle another site. They are not as beefed up as my other 15 Windows machines because when I started I did not want to mess with Linux / Unix.

However there is always someone to cater to, so I have 6 of those Linux machines running Apache. I was wanting to get this to work on a Windows Machine that was not currently doing that much without having to throw Red Hat on there or buying another box.

This is my main delima. . . . Keep costs down on equipment because bandwidth is killing me here.

Simple. . . . . . The one is not as smart as the many.

I don't claim to know everything and will be the first to admit I don't. I figured someone might have some expertise in this area because I do not. I just wondered if other people were having a similiar problem and if they found some sort of work around to fix it.

I got the php configured right and the permissions done correctly, but just having trouble getting osCommerce to install and execute properly.

Thanks Again
