HELP! Multiple domains, same cart, losing session

Here's the scenario:

 

FreeBSD 5.2-RELEASE

Apache/1.3.29 (Unix) PHP/4.3.4 mod_perl/1.28 mod_python/2.7.8 Python/2.3.2 mod_ssl/2.8.16 OpenSSL/0.9.7c

 

2 domains each on own virtual IP based host each with its own IP

1 domain has SSL, 1 does not

we want the SSL domain for cart, my account, etc..

 

everytime we are clicking back and forth between NONSSL and SSL, we lose session information on the current protocol. Basically, I have 2 different session id's when i browse the site. I am using MySQL to store sessions.

 

Please someone help me out. i need php to handle the sessions as the same site so users dont lose their carts. :(
