Dakota
I have followed the threads on missing orders that have been paid for but do not appear in the orders section of Admin. I did a test purchase with PayPal and see no record of the purchase in OSC. Did get email confirmation from PayPal. What is the solution? The shop is virtually unusable now. Guest
Hi, its not just paypal, what ever you buy through oscommerce (through its default system), if you don?t press the finish button it does not get added to the orders list though you receive an email about the order. I have done test orders. I have pressed continue. Payment is check/mo. The front admin page shows 7 pending orders, but clicking on that link shows no orders. If I enter an order number, it does show up. Help, help, help!

Dakota
If order does not show up, which it didn't for my test purchase, how do you know what the order number is and where exactly do you search for it?
Guest
The problem is there is a certain lack of proper documentation.

I can see the order in the MySQL database - and my order numbers are in sequence - order 60 was the last that showed up - i can type 61, 62, etc. and pull them up. burt
The orders are going in with a status that is not recognised. All you need to do is update the Paypal to return orders with a status of "pending" or "paid" or whatever.

Guest
I installed the PayPalIPN 1.5A but it didn't fix (not sure it installed completely and I emailed the guy and visited his site but never heard back and the site was gone a few days later) and I've made sure that the cache is enabled as mentioned on another thread and that the PayPal module is set to 'processing' but still the PayPal orders don't show up. I can't find them in the db though the number gets skipped. Today I had my 3rd order in a row from the same poor woman who I have to keep emailing to say 'what did you order?'. I've asked her to please hit the continue and go all the way through and she's assured me that she has and one of the orders I was able to figure out by checking the 'recover carts' mod (it considered it an abandoned cart rather than an order) but the one I got today is for $43 and what's sitting in RC only comes to $23- frustrating! Any suggestions/thoughts/ideas?
Guest
who said try the auto return setting at PayPal? Many MANY thanks! It worked for mine- now to go find out from that poor woman (AGAIN) what she ordered and promise her I've got it fixed!
spilotes
What url did you use for the auto return? PayPal states that the content of the page returned to must contain the order confirmation info. I've tried to send it back to the success.php to no avail. Confused worm farmer looking for assistance.
Guest
This happens to me from time to time. I t happens on all my payment modules, not just paypal. None of the reasons above seem to point to the reason for this for any of my instances. The only thing that helped me with this problem was to install the recover cart sales module. That way, when you get and order but no email from you store, you just go into your admin area and check to see what is in the customer's cart (because his cart is never emptied). The result is that they never get the order email generated by your stoer but it is certainly better than nothing. ALso, I do not know what version of OSC you are using, however I have heard on other threads that this only happens in MS1. However, I have found that it also happens in MS2. Just install the Recover Cart Sales module and you will be OK. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri.../search,Recover
Guest
Just a little note here... I seem to have noticed that this SEEMS to happen when someone is making a purchase at the same time I am working on something in my admin section. I could be wrong but who knows. Guest
Apologies Rich- I've been swamped and didn't have a chance to answer you. I used: https://DOMAINNAMEHERE/catalog/checkout_success.php You'll want to put your domain name in there and remove the s at the end of http if you're not using a secure server.
