mweinst
I have tried searching for this for a while now and can't find the answer. Sorry if its obvious to you experts, but I am as new as they come. I have created an extensive hierarchichal data structure in my catalog. It has 3 main categories that break down into many, many subcategories in each path. As it turns out, I will only be able to sell products in one of the main categories for a while. I don't want to delete the other 2 parts of the catalog structure. Is there a way to 'turn them off' for now and then activate them later? I mean so that the catalog structure is still there, but the customers don't see it live. Also, how do I figure out which version of OSC I'm running? It was installed for me by someone who is long gone.
♥yesudo
don't think you can do that in admin - not sure. another option is to stick an if statement in your categories box - to not show certain cats. Your online success is Paramount.

♥yesudo
you can switch the categories off within the db query whick I can show you how to do if you let me know the cat id of the two main cats you want to switch off. Although you would still need to switch the proucts off within those cats via admin. Your online success is Paramount.
