UPS Worldship ODBC - pull state name?

Recommended Posts

I have the mySQL ODBC connection to the UPS Worldship software. But one item that doesn't come through properly is the state.

I think this is because osc stores Wisconsin and UPS is looking for WI

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

You simply need to add a translation to WorldShip. Do this as follows:

1) Select Create/Edit Map on the UPS OnLine Connect menu.

2) Highlight the map you wish to edit and select [Edit].

3) In the bottom window select the mapping that has the state field/column in it.

4) Select the [Edit] button.

5) Select [Translations].

6) Select "State" and click [OK].

7) Click [OK] on the remaining dialogs.

8) You're done.

I've also added the Canada province abbreviations to the translation, you'll need to figure this out on your own, it was pretty simple to do.

Not sure if anyone will still reply to this thread, but I have another similar question.

I have the translation running for the state conversion, but have you run into any problems with phone number. Not everyone inputs the number the same way, so it can screw up the display in Worldship.

Yeah, I would say the phone number wouldn't get used that often, but it's nice if all the data imports how it's mean to import.

Anyone know how to pull over the shipping type? Ground, 2nd day air, next day air, etc.
